The portals were called booksearchengine.com and medicalsearchengine.com. These were the first two vertical portals ever to be created. (focused on a single subject- later known as vortals) We had used Sybase on Linux back in 1997. I believe that now MySql would be a good enough database for a portal. I would be happy to make reasonable "donations" if you could help me get the portals restarted. Thanks for your time.
