Thank God Vacation is Almost Here!
August 17, 04 by kenrichWell, situation normal around here, everything is all fubar today. The staging database server basically has the log files full so I can’t properly test my new code that needs to be launched. Oh well, at least it is only a minor change. That is kind of typical of the environment around here.
The funny thing is that we have been having some major performance problems on the staging server. But the staging server is maybe used by 5 people at once. This includes the staging database as well so there really shouldn’t be any problem. My guess is that the problem is the poorly written code that has been placed on the server. There are some serious database design flaws that were introduced by our “crack” team of database administrators.
My vacation starts after today and I wonder if my boss really even knows that I am going. I will give him a call about 30 minutes before I leave to let him know that I have vacation the rest of the week. It will be good revenge for every time he asks me to start and finish a substantial project 30 minutes before I have to leave.
